Tigerlamb Named Best Salon in Queensland at the AHIA Awards 2025

On Sunday 19 October 2025, we experienced a moment we’ll never forget...Tigerlamb was named AHIA Business QLD State Salon of the Year 2025 for the THIRD time at the Australian Hair Industry Awards - an honour that sits at the very top of our industry.

In Australian hair, the AHIA Awards are the equivalent of the Oscars. They are the most respected, independently judged awards in the country, recognising not just creative talent, but excellence in business, leadership, client experience and culture. To be recognised at this level is something we are incredibly proud of.

What the AHIA Awards Represent

Launched in 2014 by Mocha Group, the AHIA Awards have become the definitive benchmark for excellence across Australia and New Zealand. Each year, salons and businesses are assessed through a rigorous judging process by an independent panel of national and international industry leaders.

In 2025, more than 300 entries were reviewed by 30+ judges, including global industry icons such as Tabatha Coffey and Sandy Chong. To stand out in a field of this calibre makes the recognition even more meaningful.

A Brisbane First - and a Night to Remember

This year’s gala marked the first time the AHIA Awards were held in Brisbane, hosted at The Star Brisbane. The night was bold, electric and unapologetically creative - a true celebration of the hair industry at its best.

From the opening performance to the high-energy afterparty, the atmosphere reflected the innovation, confidence and momentum of Australian hair right now. Being recognised on home soil made the moment even more special for our entire team.

Our Journey to This Moment

Tigerlamb was founded in 2004 by Helen Owens, starting with a single salon in Teneriffe. Over the years, it has grown into one of Brisbane’s most respected salon groups, with locations including New Farm, Portside, King Street, Coorparoo and West End - with King Street in Bowen Hills proudly remaining our flagship.

Today, our team of 38 professionals is known for technical excellence, thoughtful service and genuine care. From non-binary pricing and silent services to considered design, comfort and ease, everything we do is built around creating a client experience that feels personal, inclusive and elevated.

Social responsibility has always been part of who we are. Through initiatives such as The Phoenix Project, giving back to community and charity is embedded into the way we operate, not treated as an afterthought. This commitment was previously recognised when Helen was awarded AHIA Humanitarian of the Year 2023.
